Is DVD Death at Hand?

The Register has an article about a Forrester report that predicts the quick decline of physical media in favor of downloaded and on-demand access to music and video content. While I can see that there are obvious trends in this direction, there is a HUGE gap in bandwidth between the relative trickle of Kazaa and the like to the zillion DVDs (and VHS) people now rent every night. Not that the internet superpowers couldn't roll out bandwidth that quick, it'd just be a mess. When this does come to be, bandwidth trading and distributed content delivery will be hot areas to be in.
