The truth about Macs

This is pretty funny. Too bad there's only one video.

Cool movie site

I saw a "preview" for this movie today when I went to see _Return of the King_. I guess the movie is called "I Robot Now".

Hidden Art

I had heard of chip makers filling empty space on chips with graffiti but I had no idea it was so widespread.

EMC buy VMWare

Hmm... seems to be a lot of buyouts... Novel, CheckPoint, now EMC buying VMWare. EMC says they want to get in to server virtualization... I think there's still work to be done in storge virtulization...

CheckPoint buys ZoneLabs

I hope CheckPoint doesn't turn their backs on the free version of Zone Alarm after the buyout. It's real easy for novices to use it which adds to the overall security of the net.

I wanna be a kid!

They have WAY cooler toys now. Even the Legos are better.

Kewl keyboard

What happened to Bluetooth being cheap? Does anyone else remember that promise? Check out the numeric keypad on this one.

I've never really had a PC that looked real good... case off, cables hanging out... not to mention the messy desk it sits on. Nevertheless I NEED this. Almost $1k for a chrome case is a bit steep... although a chrome keyboard for $93...

Too Politically Correct?

Apparently Micro$oft included swastikas in a font packaged with Office. Of course they immediately said they would remove it. Is that the right choice? For practicality, it probably is... It's a pretty safe bet that more people would be pissed if it remained than would be pissed if it was removed. Neowin had some interesting discussion on the subject. I knew the Nazis didn't invent the swastika, but I didn't know it was so widely used before. On one hand I can't begin to imagine what the symbol embodies for Jews, but on the other hand, I think they're tough enough not to be afraid of a couple lines on a piece of paper. Maybe if it were left in Nazis would use it, and maybe Google could use it to allow searches for hate material so we could hunt down racists...

Great Holiday Gift

So they finally found Saddam... I figured some Iraqis would not be happy about it, but what kills me is that some Arabs are mad because he was shown on TV in the condition he was found. People are still afraid of him, so I think showing that he is just a man was important to do. I don't understand why any Arab would identify with such an evil man. I'm glad he was caught alive too; I think the Iraqi people need a trial so that all he did can be made public... I think it will be easier for people to grieve their losses when they are not hidden behind the lies of an evil regime.

Sun seems to be shining brightly

Looks like Sun isn't fooling around with it's Java Desktop. eWeek is reporting that PCs with the new Linux based desktop package will be on Walmart shelves. If you didn't know, Walmart is the world's largest retailer and they're expected to be the first company to hit the milestone of $300 billion in annual sales sometime next year. This comes after announcements that China and maybe the UK are adopting the Sun Java Desktop.

Good things come in small packages

Popcorn is a VERY small POP3 email client that uses a POP3 server in sort of a client server mode... reads the headers then grabs the body when you want it, leaving everything on the server 'til you want to delete it. Ideal for using on the go.

Hackers unite?

This guy wants hackers to adopt an emblem. I kinda like the many emblems currently in use... a can of Dew, a "Free Kevin" sticker (he's free but you can't get the damn things off), body odor, several gadgets hanging off your belt...

AH HA! ...ummm... ah ha?

X-Windows is evil. Try Fresco instead. Or this looks kewl...

The end of sex

Orgasms at the push of a button! Womens' need for men was questionable before; now they'll start killing us off and reproduce by cloning.
