The Republican agenda

I guess the influx of protitutes into NewYork shows the true character of our political leaders.

VP Potty mouth

Apparently Cheney is human! He told Senator Leahy to "Fuck off".

Micro$oft Borg Networking RC1

Actually I think this article is making too big of a deal about this. I'm kinda surprised M$ got the patent on this; I can recall several other companies working on "personal area networks" that used the body as a conductor.

Civic minded drug dealers?

My god, bureaucrats are stupid. Hey, let's try to collect taxes from drug dealers! You know that this wasn't just one idiot... These sorts of things always go through a committee.

New Group Policy Management Console

Looks like Micro$oft came out with a new version of the Group Policy Management Console.

Get a BMW for your iPod

Apple now has an adapter to interface your iPod to your BMW's audio system. I always thought the Range Rover looked like an iPod with wheels

The first handheld PC on the market

Sony beat OQO and Flipstart to the market with this little gem. I REALLY want one of these little guys... I'll probably wait until they offer "instant on" capabilities.

DNS attack?

Supposedly the DNS infrastructure was under attack, but only Akamai seems to have been affected. Sounds kinda fishy seeing as they had another outage in the past couple weeks that they admitted was their fault.

Just WOW!

I love cool cases and this is the ultimate in cool. Gives me a lot of ideas...

Amazon Bombing?

You've all heard of Google Bombing well now there's Amazon Bombing. Here's another example, and another from the Register. Should be much easier than Google bombing since there is a lot less data that is used to determine what should be linked. Hmm....

FAT Patent

Microsoft is trying to patent the File Allocation Table. Most likely this move is intended to be a pain to the Linux crowd, but I have a feeling a lot of companies will have a problem with this.

Missed opportunity...

Rather than worring about signs being stolen, the people of the town should try to market their city to tourists based on the name.

Maybe just my dog is an idiot

I study of a border collie showed it had a vocabulary of 200 words and learned new words quickly. I think my jack russell has a vocabulary of zero. He only seems to be able to tell if you're saying something nice, or scolding him. Oh well, he's cute and good to nap with.

Makes you wonder...

After going to a fertility clinic to get help having a child, a German couple was told to try having sex! I'm kinda surprised that instinct did get the job done. I'd also like to know how their parents kept them in the dark so well...

Pig Vampires

This pig blood might be better used as a weapon in Afganistan.

Where to draw the line?

An article over at ZDNet cites a study that reveals that 70% of coders take stuff they've written between employers. A royalty-free repository with no strings attached would be one solution, but the vast majority of snippits are GPL, so you couldn't use them in a comercial product. Yet another reason I like the BSD style license.

What else would you use an armored bulldozer for?

The people in this town saw this guy building a tank and never thought he might be up to no good? The idiots deserve to be run over.

If you build it they will come...

Contemporary Cargo Cults is an interesting read. Not sure if I necessarily agree with some of the generalizations, but it's food for thought...

Never really thought about it before, but apparently this guy invented smilies.

The reason for Linux

Sun is going to open-source Solaris in some form. Who knows what form of license it will be (I'll bet it's not GPL), but I can't see it making much of a change in Sun's sales. The article makes the interesting point that the reson Linux was created in the first place is that Solaris was too expensive.

60GB iPods apparently on the way

Toshiba let it slip that they are making a 60 GB 1.8 inch hard drive and that Apple is buying them. Oops!

Gigabeat G21

The Gigabeat G21 looks like it could be an iPod killer, but for now it's only in Japanese. You can still get it in the US at Audio Cubes.

mini me?

Does this look like a stick of deodorant to anyone else?

It was on the internet, it must be true!

It appears that quite a few news agencies don't understand satire. It'd be pretty funny if the US weren't in such a shitty position right now...
*UPDATE* Now it appears that there might be some truth to the rumor after all.
